A makeup trial is not just a preview; it is a test run. Use it to decide the look, check how it lasts and plan the timing for the wedding day.
What to bring
- Photos of looks you like, and of looks you do not like.
- A top or dupatta in the colour of your wedding outfit.
- Your jewellery, or photos of it, especially the nath, maang tikka and earrings.
- Any skincare products you use daily, and a list of allergies.
- A friend or family member whose opinion you trust.
What to test
- Foundation shade: check it in daylight near a window, not only under bright lights.
- Eye makeup: does it suit your eye shape, and is it comfortable with lashes?
- Lip colour: try it with your outfit colour, and choose a long-lasting option.
- Hair style: see it from the side and back, and with the dupatta on.
Check how it lasts
Keep the makeup on for a few hours after the trial. Notice whether your skin gets oily, whether the foundation creases and whether anything feels heavy or itchy. Tell the artist so they can adjust.
Take photos
Take photos with flash and without, indoors and outdoors. Your wedding photographers will use both kinds of light.
Note the details
Write down the final products, shades and the time the full look took. Ask the artist to note the same, so the wedding-day look matches the trial.
Discuss the wedding-day plan
- What time will the artist arrive, and how much space and light do they need?
- Will they do makeup for the mother, sisters or friends, and how long will that take?
- Will they stay for touch-ups before the reception?
Book a trial with a verified makeup artist on Wedding Events at least four to six weeks before the wedding.
