The happiest couples are the ones who knew exactly what they would receive and when. A clear contract with your photographer protects both of you.

- Whether you also get the unedited (raw or full-resolution) photos.
- The format and how they are delivered: an online gallery, a pen drive or both.
- How long the online gallery stays available for download.
Albums
- Number of albums, size, number of pages and type of paper or cover.
- Whether you can choose the photos for the album and review the design before printing.
- How many rounds of changes are included.
Video
- Full-length video of the rituals: approximate duration.
- Highlight film or cinematic teaser: approximate duration and music.
- A short reel for social media, if offered.
Timelines and payments
Write down when you will receive a sneak peek, the full photo gallery, the films and the printed album. Agree on a payment schedule, for example an advance to book, a part payment on the wedding day and the balance on delivery of the album.
Backups and rights
Ask how many copies of your photos are kept until delivery, so nothing is lost if a card fails. Agree whether the photographer may use your photos on their website or social media.
